Live player counts
Where the numbers on game pages come from and how fast they change.
The player counts across the site come straight from our game servers, not from Roblox's own statistics.
How servers report
Every running game server reports its player count every 15 seconds, and again a couple of seconds after anyone joins or leaves. When a server shuts down it reports that too. A server that stops reporting for 45 seconds is dropped from the totals.
How often the page changes
The totals are recalculated once a second and pushed to every open page, so you see them change without reloading.
What is counted
- Playing now is the sum of players on a game's public release.
- Live servers is how many of its servers are running.
- Live builds splits both by build: the release version and the commit it was built from. During an update, old and new servers run side by side until the old ones empty out.
Test servers for upcoming releases are counted separately and don't appear in these numbers.
